Powers of ten: the relative size of things in the Universe

In the January 2010 issue of Astronomy Now, Professor Carl Murray shares with us his top five 'desert island' books, one of which is Powers of Ten: About the Relative Size of Things in the Universe by Philip Morrison, Phylis Morrison and the Office of Charles and Ray Eames. Carl says, "The movie on which this is based was a journey from a picnic in a Chicago park to the edge of the Universe and then back again right to down to the sub-atomic level. This is still one of the best ways to illustrate the size and structure of the Universe in just 42 steps." Here is that video!
